Who Should Attend:

Participation in this free one­day training is open to all county, local, state, and tribal public health workers and volunteers who have been or are expected to be part of a disaster response. The training is designed for individuals who may not have previous experience with behavioral health topics.

Registration: 8:30 a.m.
Training: 9:00 a.m.­3:30 p.m.

Lunch will be provided for preregistered participants only.

Session topics include:

  • The mental/behavioral health impact of a disaster,
  • Psychological first aid
  • Integrating behavioral health into local systems of response and recovery (defining roles)
  • All hazards planning for mental/behavioral health response needs
  • The importance of self­care
